We learnt how to do the printing process (Which is pretty long - I suddenly have new-found respect for people who do this as a living...)
I suppose I shold write it down here before I forget.
Putting the paper into water (The paper has to be relatively thick, otherwise it won't work as planned)
> Whilst that is going on, the ink is spread over the dry point plate, into all the nooks and crannies
> The excess ink is then wiped off with a sort of net-cloth-thing, and then tissue paper
> Take the paper out of the water (It should've been about ten minutes by now) and then blot it between those big sheets of paper so that it is damp without being wet
>This bit I always get mixed up...At the printing press, put newsprint down on the card, then tissue paper, then the damp paper, then the plate on top of that, then tissue paper, and newsprint again.
>Put it through the press
>Et voila, one print done.
And here is the end result...
On the first one, I overscrubbed it. Overscrubbing is when you press too hard at the wiping excess ink stage. Apparently, a lot of lads do that. HUWAH. The second one came out better, you can see the diference between them.
